iPad Mini to be best-selling gadget this Christmas

According to John Lewis, i Pad Mini is to be the people's choice for this Christmas. He predicted that the product will be the best selling one in this coming festive season. The retailer predicted it will sell one tablet every fifteen seconds over the festive period as people look to upgrade old models.
Both the Samsung Tab 3 and Google Nexus tablets appeared alongside the iPad Mini in the top five predicted best-selling tech items.
Apple released the iPad Mini - which has a screen two inches smaller than the standard iPad - last year and a new version is expected to be unveiled in time for the Christmas sales.
John Lewis said 2013 was set to be the "year of the big upgrade" in tablets with sales of Samsung and Google versions of the device almost doubling over the past 12 months.
“We have seen big developments in the tablet market this year, with models like the Samsung Galaxy challenging the iPad's top spot and growing its market share," said Adam Brown, a tablet and telecoms buyer for John Lewis.
"There’s been so much development in the tablet market over the past few years that we see this Christmas as the time when many tablet-users will see fit to upgrade their earlier models.”
In the battle of the next-generation video game consoles Microsoft’s Xbox One is expected to outsell rival Sony's PlayStation 4.
John Lewis's Robert Hennessey said: "The Xbox One is the biggest launch this year, not just in gaming, but for the entire entertainment category ... Time will tell which brand continues to deliver the goods, but for now, its advantage Microsoft.”

iPad Mini 2: 'New device could be out this month'
Further, the TechRadar team said October 15, before Christmas, was "the new date on everyone's lips" as it would be the first time consumers could expect to get a proper glimpse of the new gadget iPad Mini 2.
The device is expected to look and feel much like its predecessor which is 23 per cent thinner and 53 per cent lighter than a standard size iPad.
Leaked images show a device with a similar colour scheme to the iPhone 5S, which comes in silver, space grey and gold.
The biggest change is thought to be in the display which is rumoured to be a high-res retina screen, similar to 3rd and 4th generation iPads.
Apple's new operating system iOS 7 will come as standard with each device.
